East London Line, Dalston Station


Weston Williamson are lead architects for the East London Line project responsible for line wide identity on the extension which includes four new stations. Weston Williamson are also designing the stations at Hoxton and Dalston.
  Dalston station sits behind the Kingsland Road in a disused cutting and includes and interchange with a new bus station. The entrance and ticket hall is at street level and the platforms accessed by stairs or lifts. The contractor is Balfour Beatty/Carrillion joint venture and the engineers are Scott Wilson Railways.   Retail units are inserted into the arches adjacent to the entrance. The station opened ahead of schedule in June 2010.
