East London Line, Hoxton StationWeston Williamson are lead architects for the East London Line project responsible for line wide identity on the extension which includes four new stations. |
Weston Williamson are also designing the stations at Hoxton and Dalston. Hoxton station sits behind the Geoffrey Museum on the Kingsland Road. The station entrance and ticket hall will be formed in the refurbished brick arches of the former railway viaduct with new platforms above accessed by new lifts and stainless steel stairtowers. | The contractor is Balfour Beatty/Carrillion joint venture and the engineers are Scott Wilson Railways. Retail units are inserted into the arches adjacent to the entrance. The station opened ahead of schedule in June 2010. |
