King's Cross CentreClient: English HeritageWeston Williamson were commissioned by English Heritage to study the listed Gas Holders at King's Cross and present ideas to the House of Lord's Committee in their consideration of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. |
English Heritage wish to see the Gas Holders retained and moved to a new position. We studied three options; a sports centre, a swimming and leisure complex and a multi-screen cinema. | The existing structures lend themselves to these proposed uses very well and the presentation drawings show that the structures could help form an exciting and interesting enclosure to these recreational buildings. These proposals were submitted to the House of Lords committee and adopted for inclusion in the Bill. |
