National Energy Foundation Headquarters, Milton Keynes


The headquarters demonstrate the NEF's energy conscious ethos. Weston Williamson has incorporated energy efficient aspects within a skilfully designed, predominantly brick envelope, on a tight budget.		   The NEF is an independent educational charity whose primary objective is to encourage more efficient, innovative and safe use of energy, and to increase public awareness of energy in all its different guises. The site was in a fairly isolated part of Milton Keynes called Knowlhill, designated as an area where only highly energy efficient buildings can be built.   Weston Williamson's approach is to design from an early stage with buildability and the construction process in mind. Details are drawn at an early stage to ensure cost certainty and the approval of the client.
