New England Biolabs, BostonClient: New England BiolabsWeston Williamson aim to provide cost efficient, good quality, functional robust and aesthetically pleasing designs. |
A good example of this is the masterplan for the campus of New England Biolabs, which we won, in an international competition and is now completed. The design allows views from all laboratories and greater continuity of contact. It gives rhythm to the elevations and the greater depth fits naturally on the site to integrate the building with the landscape. | The single street creates a strong sense of community and a focus for the winter garden at the south. We have achieved a balance between cut and fill, minimising the importing or exporting of soil with associated high costs both financially and environmentally. |
