RIBA Headquaters

Chris Williamson was elected to the RIBA council in 1998 to 2004 and was Chairman of the premises board for 66 Portland Place from 2000-2002.
During this time the RIBA headquarters building was refurbished under a series of self financed schemes for large areas of the building. The first project was the Jarvis Lecture Theatre followed by the Florence Hall and restaurant. Weston Williamson produced a series of exploratory sketches which were used to test ideas and brief the house architects.   The above images show the Florence Hall which is a multi use space housing not only exhibitions and the restaurant but large scale events with a 250 seat auditorium or a 150 seat restaurant. The building is grade one listed.
