St John's Church Hall, Pinner


Weston Williamson was selected as Architect for this project after being short listed with three other practices. Our client's aims were made clear in their enlightened, forward looking brief;		   "We are not wedded to conventional church materials; for example, we would not be averse to significant use of glass. Rather than copy an earlier style, our preference on the whole is for a style true to its time and relying for its cohesiveness on sympathetic and harmonious contrast."   The new accommodation comprises three flexible and sub-divisible meeting rooms, kitchen and ancillary spaces as well as a new vestry office to serve the adjoining church. The completed project won a RIBA Regional Award in 1995 and a 1996 Civic Trust Award.
