Urban Splash, River Irwell, Salford


We were appointed by Urban Splash to develop a high profile mixed use, residential development in Salford, after being short listed in an international competition.		   Urban Splash wanted to create a development that would act as a catalyst to regenerate this part of Salford. Our design emanates from what we call the "Salford Wave" with a curvy beach front along the river and plenty of green space between the blocks of apartments. The blocks are strategically positioned so that every apartment gets views of the riverside.   The façades of the apartment blocks are colourful - patterns are created by specific colours assigned to different types of apartments. There is a tower on the other side of the river, which provides fantastic river views and is connected with the development on the other side by means of a footbridge.
