Our regular women’s group meetings are open to everyone. They’re a chance to talk about issues of gender equality, pay equity, equitable recruitment, career progression and training and to update each other on networking opportunities and events. In addition to the meetings, there are regular training and team building sessions, workshops and seminars on a variety of topics, from leadership to gender blindness.
We take action to educate ourselves on unconscious bias and how to prevent it in the workplace. We recently invited Dr Karen Maloney (Maloney Minds) to our London studio to host a Lunch and Learn session poising the question “What Gender Are You?”.
This year, for the first time, some of our London staff walked in the annual Pride parade. Having first attended the RIBA Pride breakfast we walked the route with the Engineering Equality group, showing our support for the LGBT+ community.
