When Chris was asked to work with Andrew Weston for group projects at Leicester School of Architecture (for no other reason than they were next to each other alphabetically) they both realised that their skills dovetailed perfectly. They particularly bonded on environmental issues during the energy crisis in the mid 1970s which altered the world to the need to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels. Their shared ambition made for a perfect business partnership and Weston Williamson was formed in 1985 after gaining valuable experience in the offices of Richard Rogers and Michael Hopkins.
We are delighted to announce that Founding Partner Chris Williamson will be joining the New London Architecture Expert Panel for Transport & Infrastructure.
The panel focuses on the future of mobility and modal share of streets for all users, as well as the impact of transport infrastructure in unlocking growth and accessibility across the capital.
The NLA Expert Panels bring together industry experts from across the NLA membership to advise on the NLA’s core programmes, provide thought-leadership on design, development and construction in London and respond to new policies or consultations.
Chris is passionate about public transport, and is committed to promoting ways to move people from cars onto safe, efficient and well0designed transport systems. Since forming Weston Williamson + Partners Chris has championed our work in transport and infrastructure leading some of London’s most important transport schemes, from the London Bridge Jubilee Line station, via DLR extensions supporting the London 2012 Olympics, to the new cross-London Elizabeth line station.
