Weston Williamson + Partners, with Allies and Morrison, Resilience Brokers and JOTT, have been awarded the contract by the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC) to deliver a 125ha masterplan for Ebbsfleet Central.
Ebbsfleet Central sits at the heart of the Ebbsfleet Garden City, focus around the international railway station. Forming a key component of the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation’s plans for the area, the masterplan will fulfil the long-term vision for the Garden City and guide all future development in Ebbsfleet Central.
The Ebbsfleet Central masterplan will deliver a high density urban development at the heart of the Garden City providing a range of jobs, homes, community and cultural facilities. A new commercial core will attract a diverse range of employment opportunities, with a focus on medi-tech, biosciences and other related research and innovation sectors. Major new parks, increased connectivity and city-wide social infrastructure will benefit the whole area.
Simon Catton, Partner at Weston Williamson + Partners and Project Director said “We are delighted to be working on this exciting and innovative project. The communities around Ebbsfleet deserve a high-quality new place at the heart of their community. Through this project we will build on the original garden city principles, looking towards the future for a new city model.”
Jason Syrett, Partner at Allies and Morrison added “We are excited to be collaborating with Weston Williamson + Partners on the Ebbsfleet Central masterplan. The creation of a new mixed-use urban centre providing jobs, homes, community and cultural facilities around Ebbsfleet International station is a key ingredient in delivering the Garden City vision for the wider area.”
The Weston Williamson + Partners team is leading one of three workstreams which will collectively unlock Ebbsfleet Central.
