We are thrilled to announce that the Project HEART Consortium have been selected as one of the winners of the 3 year Innovate UK Future Flight Challenge Phase 3 programme. This £10m project will continue the world-leading development of technological, operational and sociological innovations started within Project HEART Phase 2 under the Future Flight programme.
Project HEART Phase 3 will bring to life the future business model of highly automated, carbon reduced sub-regional aviation that is cost-effective, safe, reliable and commercially viable by integrating multi-disciplinary innovations from the consortium. Flight trials, technological demonstrations, operational simulations, public engagement and publication will demonstrate how the integrated capability will serve the people who need it most.
Project HEART assembles a best-of-breed consortium that brings together world leaders in Aircraft Automation, BVLOS operations, Hydrogen-electric Power-train integration, Hydrogen fuel Infrastructure, Quantum Key Security providers, Infrastructure Architects and Universities with operational airlines, airports, digital airport and aviation service providers.
The consortium is led by Blue Bear and includes: ZeroAvia, Protium Green Solutions, Britten-Norman Aircraft, Edinburgh Napier University, Logan Air, FOD Mobility Group, Weston Williamson + Partners, Highlands and Islands Airports, SAAB UK, ARQIT, RDM Group, GENEO and Mott MacDonald. This team of 14 organisations are fully united behind a shared vision of a future sub-regional aviation.
