WW+P with WSP Engineers has been retained to design two of the five new metro stations on the Yonge Subway Extension (YSE) in Toronto and York Region. This is the practice’s first rail project in the city and follows hot on the heels of its first aviation project at Toronto Pearson announced in March.
Rob Naybour and Christian Bocci will be attending the CCPPP National Conference on Public-Private Partnerships in Toronto on November 5-6. Recognised as the premier forum on PPP, it brings together 1,200 senior government and business leaders from across Canada and around the world.
Christian is presenting at the next Think Deep UK workshop on Future Transportation (people & freight) – how will we be moving in the future?
Christian is a Senior Partner who designs and delivers challenging projects for our clients. He also plays a key role in client relationship building and business development within the practice.
Two key projects, Paddington Integrated Project and HS2 Old Oak Common, demonstrate his combined knowledge of masterplanning and station design. Each has required bringing disparate parts together into a single vision and a deliverable project with urban realm, intermodal functions and commercial developments.
His considerable experience is currently being put to good use on two new projects - a transformative airport masterplan for Pearson International Airport, including land and concept design for a regional transit centre, and the design of two new stations and associated urban realm on the Yonge Subway extension, both in Toronto.
Christian is passionate about developing new design techniques and has developed the WW+P Elemental Option Sift (EOS) design process that unlocks optimised design solutions where infrastructure meets masterplanning.
He promotes Transport Oriented Development (TOD) at industry forums and is a founder member of Think Deep UK (TDUK) a group of built environment experts committed to creating resilient, sustainable and liveable cities through smart use of underground space. He also lectures on a wide variety of topics and sits on judging panels for industry award schemes including the BCI and the AJ Specification.
