The excitement of visiting a new global city is unbounded - the buildings, the spaces, the infrastructure, the people, the culture - all to be experienced and explored. First impressions are said to stick, so with a few days in Toronto supporting the growth of our new studio, I set about making some initial judgements on how the city made me feel.

The Mayor's efforts to unlock land for affordable housing is a step in the right direction says Philip Breese, Senior Partner
In October 2018 Philip became managing partner responsible for the operational and strategic management of the practice in the UK.
Since joining Weston Williamson in 2005, Philip has played an integral role in the growth and strategic development of the practice. Philip has worked across all sectors of the studio coordinating the design and delivery of projects covering each work stage for developer, public sector and housing-provider clients. He is an assured leader, a highly competent designer and communicator with strong strategic planning and people management skills.
From 2013 Philip has led residential, commercial, regeneration and refurbishment projects, building an expert team delivering high quality award winning housing led mixed-use projects. His work is underpinned by the studio’s Transport Oriented Development initiative bringing together housing, transport infrastructure, urban realm and master planning skill sets across a range of project scales and complexities.
Notable projects Philip has worked on during his career include Chek Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong, Canary Wharf Jubilee line station, the British Embassy in Sanaa, Yemen and Chapter Lewisham modular student housing. In partnership with Building Trust Philip led our design of a new school in Cambodia and is a visiting diploma critique at Nottingham University.
