A lobster float designed by WW+P’s Incubator team, has been shortlisted in the LFA London Pride Float competition. The brief was to design an iconic float which will feature in this year’s festival and parade. Judges included AJ Architecture editor Rob Wilson.
Our brightly lit and moveable lobster embodies the mission of Pride, to be fully inclusive of all the LGBT+ community, celebrate LGBT+ life and promote architecture as an inclusive profession.
The eventual winner will receive £8,000 to design and deliver the structure in time for the event on July 7.
Incubator is a young and ambitious collective working within WW+P. With a view to nurturing talent and developing skills, the studio utilises the creativity of our graduates to establish teams in response to identified opportunities for personal and practice progression. Inverting the traditional hierarchy, projects are led by recently qualified architects and assistants supported by senior colleagues where necessary.
