Come and hear the story of Khyaung School in rural Cambodia – our project to design and build three classrooms, a library and a covered play area, so that the community’s 359 school-age children could attend school full-time, not in shifts.
We worked with Engenuiti, Integration and Building Trust International to design a school building which was flexible and adaptable to meet current and future needs. The innovative, cost-effective and low maintenance design maximises the use of external and internal spaces, incorporating traditional verandas to enable teaching and play in small groups.
The talk and panel discussion is part of Article 25’s Make Design Matters series of inspirational talks for humanitarians, and takes place at our Valentine Place studio on Thursday May 30 at 6.30pm. Tickets are available here
