The key concepts for the architectural design of the Centre for the Promotion of Science focused upon the aims to generate a building form with a strong single identity alongside the aim to integrate the resultant building form into the wider site locality and concept for the development of the master plan for Block 39.
Taking the wider site context and it’s location on the South East zone of Block 39 a podium platform links the Centre for the Promotion of Science and the Science Institute. This aims to create a strong inter relationship between these two key building forms. Furthermore reflecting their close or potentially linked uses these two buildings are represented in two distinct opposite yet complimentary building massings. One vertical and angular the other horizontal, linear, quiet.
